As a member of the FIligree collection at Hazorfim, this silver spice box was created as an elegant tribute to the art of the Jews of Yemen. The collection takes its name from the difficult art of filigree which decorates using thin threads of silver, linked together in beautiful designs and practiced by these artists.
This magnificent havdalah spice box is supported by a circular platform which arches minimally as it climbs to reach the stem. The stem is narrow at its base, and widens as it rises upward, curving in again beneath the body of the holder, with a small ring design separating the stem from the cup. The body of this bessomim box has a rounded bottom, which gets wider as it climbs to the top, arching in and out slightly before curving back in at the top.
An elegant cover rests at the head of this spice box, rising gradually, and then curving in and narrowing as it climbs, with a ring design close to the top and a thin, pointed piece above it. The base and the widest point of the body feature a brilliant design made of small strands of silver which are braided together in a magnificent pattern, resulting in a box with exceptional beauty.
Impressive height of 18 cm, and a diameter of 8 cm
Handcrafted completely from pure 925 sterling silver
Polished to a shine, with an exceptional sparkle
Keeps the spices inside smelling fresh from week to week
Add this beautiful spice box to your collection for a decision you will never regret.
At Hazorfim, we chose to design a collection to pay homage to the special art of the Jews of Yemen and so we created the Filigree Collection, the central motif being crafted filigree. Filigree is the art of decorating by using fine silver threads spliced and wound in artistic patterns to form large, impressive silver decorations which adorn the pieces.
Filigree requires infinite patience as the craftsman persistently returns hundreds or thousands of times to the basic decoration pattern creating the spectacular adornments on the edges of each piece.
