A widespread Jewish custom known as mayim achronim is to wash the hands after a meal but before reciting grace after meals. The custom involves passing a small silver vessel filled with water and an accompanying silver dish, to greet the coming blessing with purity and splendor. The Bellagio Suspended Decorated Mayim Achronim is designed and inspired by the Italian village of Bellagio, which nests on the shores of Lake Como. The soft curves, delicate decorations and bright reflections from the pure silver are reminiscent of the mountain landscape which surrounds and is reflected in the lake. The center of this piece is adorned with a hand-made silver faucet from which forth flows the cleansing waters- a land of brooks of waters.
Pieces from the Bellagio Collection are handcrafted from pure silver using traditional hand-craft techniques. The collection gets its name from the ancient Italian village of Bellagio, on the shores of Lake Como. The collection draws its inspiration from the beautiful scenery surrounding the lake; the mountains reflected in the water and the estates built by Lombard aristocrats which surround it. Each pure silver piece in the Bellagio Collection is enlivened with delicate hand-crafted decorations.
