As a member of the elegant Filigree collection at Hazorfim, this silver wine fountain was created as an impressive tribute to the silver art of the Jews of Yemen. The collection is named for the difficult art of filigree which decorates using thin threads of silver, linked and braided in magnificent patterns, and practiced by these Jews.

This elegant kiddush cup fountain stands on a circular platform which curves in slowly as it climbs upwards, with a silver cup resting at the top of the piece into which the wine is poured. Beneath this cup is a wide disc that has thin tracks running from under the cup on top, so that the wine can flow into the small kiddush cups.

Twelve pairs of arms extend from beneath the disc, with each one holding one of the small cups that catch the wine. Each of the cups from this set has a beautiful design made up of thin strands of silver which are braided together and encircle the cup near the top. This exquisite design surrounds the base of the fountain as well, finishing the piece with a look of extraordinary beauty.

With your Jewish wine flowing through this beautiful silver wine fountain each Shabbat, you will be grateful that you added this piece to your collection of judaica silver pieces.

At Hazorfim, we chose to design a collection to pay homage to the special art of the Jews of Yemen and so we created the Filigree Collection, the central motif being crafted filigree. Filigree is the art of decorating by using fine silver threads spliced and wound in artistic patterns to form large, impressive silver decorations which adorn the pieces.

Filigree requires infinite patience as the craftsman persistently returns hundreds or thousands of times to the basic decoration pattern creating the spectacular adornments on the edges of each piece.
