The Bolero Bridegroom’s Set is a masterpiece of harmonious design combining modern and traditional elements. This intricate piece of silver art is inspired by the look and feel of velvet, the luxurious cloth used to make Bolero dresses worn by the women of Spain. Hand-made from pure silver, this ornate combination of Kiddush cup and plate compliment and embrace each other, like folds of thick velvet cloth which rest upon each other. The Bolero Bridegroom’s set beautifully captures the harmony and reconciliation between two parts of one entity and makes a fabulous gift towards building a new Jewish home. The Bolero collection sees pure silver fashioned after the luxurious velvet fabric used by Spanish women in Bolero dresses. To achieve the same “velvet” folds, Hazorfim’s expert silversmiths must polish the silver piece several times at various different stages of the work’s creation. Final polishing is done using both specially designed machine tools and traditional hand-crafting techniques.
The Cobalt Collection is inspired by the qualities of the metal cobalt, particularly the strong metallic silver-white color. To reach this bright shade of silver requires polishing and re-polishing the pieces over and over again.
The lengthy process requires a skilled and patient silversmith who is expert in a number of traditional hand-polishing and re-coating techniques; none of which may be skipped in the process of producing these stunning items. The result is a unique collection of bright silver matte artworks each with a striking beauty.
