The Ben Yehuda collection is one the pioneers of the Hazorfim cast. Designed in abundantly baroque style, the entire collection, which includes menorahs, candlesticks and serving bowls, features richness, exuberance, drama, vitality and the use of combinations of different style which blur together to create harmonious effects.
The artists spare no talent in detailing this entire 8 arm silver candelabra with carvings, embellishments and daring style. Shiny, matte, carved, flat, this ageless collection of judaica silver pieces has it all. Set on 4 curled legs, the base is mainly a large elongated sterling silver sphere, set in a highly stylized handmade frame of silver arms holding it tightly in each of the four corners.
The base and trunk are very busily engraved and have many circular elements all the way up to the branches. The branches on this 8 branch sterling silver candelabra are exquisite and clearly masterminded by an expert silversmith.
Adorned with clusters of ripe grapes, the branches curl outwards, downwards and then rise to the honor of holding the Shabbat candles in their holders. The shiny cup holders resemble a flower, carved and embellished until midway.
Connect to the past and enjoy the present with this timeless magnificent 8 arm silver candelabra.
The Ben-Yehuda Collection is the first designed by the late Joseph Merdinger for Hazorfim and is influenced by the baroque-style typical of Austro-Hungarian Jews. Merdinger escaped Europe before the war, carrying only a suitcase containing his silversmith’s tools and his vision for "Hazorfim"- a company to revive the tradition of Jewish jewelry making and the traditional skills of hand-made silver art in the Land of Israel.
The elegant pieces which make-up the Ben-Yehuda Collection, are Joseph’s interpretation of classic imperial designs made famous by Jewish silversmiths from northern Europe.
