This is no ordinary 5 branch silver candelabra. The entire Ben Yehuda collection is representative of a world bygone and of a spirit of life in the Jewish people. Designed after the Austro-Hungarian Baroque style, this medium-sized sterling silver candelabra is engraved and etched carefully to produce the exact characteristics of European craftsmanship found in Judaica silver pieces from before World War Two.
Perched atop 4 curly feet, the base resembles a semi-flattened sphere “held” by four silver arms that wrap it in their grasp and will never let it go. The trunk of this 5 tier candelabra is the definition of grandeur, with its incredibly detailed, but defined and clear designs from top to bottom. The branches themselves are splendid and richly decorated, consistent with the entire piece, and each one is graced with a flower-like disc right beneath the cup holder.
What makes this piece and its counterparts unique among other is that it is the first design ever created by the founder of Hazorfim, after having escaped the devastation of Europe. He had the eye and the skill to connect us back to our roots with what makes us who we are as Jews, preserving the custom of lighting one light for each family member every Friday night and holiday.
Reconnect to your roots with this exquisite piece of art and enjoy a classic from our collection of silver candelabra centerpieces.
The Ben-Yehuda Collection is the first designed by the late Joseph Merdinger for Hazorfim and is influenced by the baroque-style typical of Austro-Hungarian Jews. Merdinger escaped Europe before the war, carrying only a suitcase containing his silversmith’s tools and his vision for "Hazorfim"- a company to revive the tradition of Jewish jewelry making and the traditional skills of hand-made silver art in the Land of Israel.
The elegant pieces which make-up the Ben-Yehuda Collection, are Joseph’s interpretation of classic imperial designs made famous by Jewish silversmiths from northern Europe.
