The Baroque style of art uses a combination of contrasts, movement and exuberant detail to achieve a sense of wonder and amazement. This emotional reaction will resonate with whoever glances at this magical 8 arm candelabra.
The extremely talented silversmiths of Hazorfim handcrafted this elaborate dining table candelabra by using simple tools and time proven methods. The classical design, reminiscent of Austro-Hungarian art, was influenced and rekindled by the late Joseph Merdinger, who timeously escaped the war with his precious crafting tools and imagination. Thus, was borne the Ben Yehuda collection, the first for Hazorfim.
Standing at a height of 51.50 inches on a sturdy, richly decorative base, this 8 candle candelabra, because of its weight has a short, yet well balanced, eye-glass shaped stem. It has an equally decorative knop that rises upward to display the 8 majestic capitals.
The 8 labra resemble strong muscular arms. They flaunt their beauty by floating in a circle with one candle slightly raised above the others. Their upper parts are cone-shaped with a ring connection to the lower arcing boughs that, vigorously expose the stately capitals.
There is a feeling of flow and movement, as one contemplates the buds, leaves and vines that seem to spiral eternally upwards representing the tree of life and light.
A truly imperial classical piece of artwork.

The Ben-Yehuda Collection is the first designed by the late Joseph Merdinger for Hazorfim and is influenced by the baroque-style typical of Austro-Hungarian Jews. Merdinger escaped Europe before the war, carrying only a suitcase containing his silversmith’s tools and his vision for "Hazorfim"- a company to revive the tradition of Jewish jewelry making and the traditional skills of hand-made silver art in the Land of Israel.
The elegant pieces which make-up the Ben-Yehuda Collection, are Joseph’s interpretation of classic imperial designs made famous by Jewish silversmiths from northern Europe.
